6. Rate of SST on internet services is 19.5% and on cable TV is 10.00% as per the Sindh Sales Tax on Services Act, 2011. 7. Advance tax @ 12.5% is collectable on the internet services under section 236 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

If this is "common", i.e this tax is institutionally regulated, then why not put that on their website? Why not just state that it costs the consumer 5,216 a month for 30mbps? Why? Because 3,999 sounds way cheaper. This is deceptive.

Cost to customer does not get buried in the fine print. That is intentional misleading. You keep saying around the globe, but try that in the UK and see how it works for you.
Wow you guys have argued about something so useless. Hope your fingers are well exercised. You guys arguing that SF is wrong in this should all switch to Fiberlink.
I use BT, but carry on with your drivel! :)
Drive? What drive? You guys were misinformed due to your own lack of common sense. We informed you correctly. Now you’re arguing? Seriously?
Buy a pair of reading glasses, then a dictionary!

P1 (Price exclusive of tax + Basic Tax 19.5%) + P2 (P1 x 12.5% advance tax) = Your bill Yeah, the double taxation is pretty shitty.

What is this advance income tax anyway? Is income tax not deducted at source in Pakistan?
advance income tax is levied by the government and is exactly as the name sounds.. ADVANCE .. income.. tax ... when you file your return and come at your income tax payable .. you can adjust the amount paid on these bills and reduce that payable tax
just another way to attract people towards filing .. and if you think that yooure a filer because tax gets deducted in your monthly salary .. then youre wrong
Mmmm I don't have a salary in Pakistan so your if and then doesn't apply to me. I asked the question to simply get an answer, make myself better informed.
Income tax is deducted at source for employees here..but as everywhere around the world..it does not exempt you from filing for taxes and fulfilling your responsibility towards the state.. even for those with a cnic and no salary .. they have to file a NIL tax return and claim any tax refunds they paid in advance... You're not exempt from filing returns whether you have a salary, income or not

Have you ever filed your taxes? If you did, you'd know you can actually adjust the advance tax. Sadly, people here have no clue of their tax responsibilities.

You should be complianing to the government rather than the service provider. Mobile taxes are even more than this. And we have both TES and SF and both always advertised pretax. Not deceptive I feel. Also I have successfully claimed the 12.5 percent from FBR as it is advance tax. I downloaded the invoices from their online site with my filing.

Muhammad can you tell me where/ how I can do this?
Zain Shaikhzadeh FBR's website has the form and steps listed there.
You have to file your yearly tax return in complete for this..you also have to register yourself for tax purposes..it's better that you contact a tax consultant in this regard..it's not as easy as taking your bill to FBR and claiming your tax refund
