if your intention is short term usage (one year or less), go for it. if you want to use it for at least three years, sorry, the cheapo stuff won't last. either pay more for better quality shit or buy a high quality used machine

The cheapest lenovo in the market actually comes with a 3 year warranty - just saying...it seems 35k is more realistic.

Buy a good brand like dell for long term haul. My 2nd gen i7 is 7 years old and still runs like a charm

Lenovo X and T series thinkpads are fantastic. Using a Dell Precision M6700 at home; even have a dedicated SSD for hackintosh :P

Its not for me the most it will see is browsing on chrome and the occasional 720p movie...i am sorry even a c2d is adequate for that sort of a thing thus lets not talk about high end or mid tier machines they are overkill for the purpose.

Sadly not true anymore. For the 720p sure but chrome has become garbage. 4 GB RAM is the minimum requirement. Frankly I'd recommend a Lenovo X230. Rock solid machine. Get it with 8 gigs and a 120 gig SSD it'll still cost less but perform way better. It just has a shit touchpad. Otherwise the elitebook 840 will cost as much as a new but again its way more reliable
